Dragon Tails IRC Channel Rules

IRC, or Internet Relay Chat, is a popular chat protocol used on many networks of servers around the world. It's real-time, it's rugged and clients are available for all operating systems.

For Windows users, the most popular client is mIRC, which can be freely downloaded from it's homepage, and the following assumes you're using it.

After installing and setting up mIRC, from the connection window, for IRC Network, choose Sorcery from the dropdown list. You will need to fill in a username for other chatters to see and refer to you as, but you don't need to fill in your real name or EMail address.

Once connected to the server, you can type /join #dragon-tails to enter the channel.

If you're new to IRC you can probably get help from others in the channel, and there are plenty of IRC resources available online, but to start you off :

  • To emote, start your line with /me - typing /me puts the kettle on will result in * Username puts the kettle on

  • To PM, or 'Private Message', double click another users name, and you'll be able to correspond with them directly in another window.
