Welcome to my page! May all your questions be met with truths, or at least suitably convincing lies.

I am Enigma, keeper of this FAQ, trusted with the sacred task of letting the massed huddled ignorant fools (that would be you) drink from the often elusive sparkling shining spring of wondrous truth (that would be me).

So, ask your questions, and I will fill your minds with glorious answers!

Please, feel absolutely free (I mean it, I'll TELL you if I'm getting flooded with EMails) to click me, and ask anything you desire to know about the Dragon Tails world! About me, about the forest, about our lives, even about.. Um.. the other dragons, I guess! Have a query about our world? A nagging doubt! Scratch your itch! Then send an EMail even! All I ask is you check the FAQ first.

Now, on with the questions! (and presumably answers to said questions)

Questions about Dragon Tails (general)

Just what exactly *IS* Dragon Tails?

Dragon Tails is the name of our 'world', containing me (Enigma), and my seven brothers. Primarily, Dragon Tails is an exclusively online daily comic in which we all star.

What's with the other stuff? Stories, TV shows, books?

To answer that, I'll delve a little into our creative history! Originally drawn for no particular reason, our creator ended up with a series of eight dragon pictures. You can find examples over at this page. (You'll find us near the bottom) Later, a television show was planned, and scripts and plots developed. Our page was created featuring information about us, a Windows theme, and some screen shots.

After realising the TV show was much too complicated a project to hope to complete, the Dragon Tails comic strip was born, basically as justification for our existence! This grew from a weekly strip, to a twice a week strip, to the daily one. On top of this, stories were added in an attempt to expand the concept of Dragon Tails. The dream of a television show still exists though, and is held as our ultimate purpose.

Currently there are no printed publications available. Everything on Dragon Tails can be found for free, and on this web page.

There is a morning cartoon on PBS called 'Dragon Tales'. Is that you?

No. Tim has no association with that show, and only recently realised it even existed. (and still haven't seen it) The spellings are thankfully different, but even so the names are so similar as to cause confusion. If Dragon Tails does ever make it to a TV show, he'll be sure to tell everyone ALL about it on the main page!!

Questions about the dragons

What's with the names of the dragons? I think it's awfully silly to have them called things like 'green' and 'purple'. Can't you think up any better names than that?

Story-wise, some of my brothers have yet to choose suitable names for themselves, as is the dragon tradition. A dragon's name is important, and names are chosen well after birth by the dragon themselves. Reality-wise, there is an important reason why the dragon's haven't been named, and it is NOTHING to do with the creativity (or lack of) of our creator.

Can *I* name the dragon's? I have some cool names thought up... Um, how about Sparky?

I'm sorry, but the dragon's names are beyond both yours and our creators hands. Perhaps if certain people get round to it, (YOU know who you are) my brethren will one day have a full set of titles.

I've caught the odd reference, but what's with Enigma and the lake?

Basically, it's mine!! Ahh, my lake.. I've named it 'the lake of sorrows' and the stone in the center is where I perch for most of my hours. It lies near the center of the forest, and is very important to me on all levels. I take an attack or intrusion on the lake as an attack against myself. I seek tranquility there, a way to ponder the universe. It is my sanctuary, my special place. That's why I set Bluey on fire when he tries to go boating.

Questions about connected projects

I see you're making a TV show! That sounds really neat! Can I help?

I seriously doubt it, I'm afraid! Our little show still has a lot of work to go, and so Tim isn't looking for people to do sound, voices or even video editing! If you are interested in funding the show, or happen to own a television network and want to get in quickly to snap up this original quirky comedy before somebody else does, Tim would be very interested in hearing from you, and can supply story boards and scripts to better illustrate the concept.

Questions about the graphics

Your pictures are awfully pretty. Can I put some of them on my page to make it pretty too?

I don't see why not. Just EMail Tim and make it clear which graphics you'd like to use (filenames are good) and why. Make sure you include your page's address too! Typically, we're just looking for a bit of credit, basically a text link back to our page underneath each image. But make sure you ASK first!!!

I like your backgrounds too. Can I use them? Or better yet, there's no need to trouble you about it, I'll just pop them on my site.

NO!!! Sorry to sound an ogre, but we're not having that! Our backgrounds are our own, and are important to the look of our page. Unlike pictures of us, the backgrounds tend to lack elements that mark it as 'Dragon Tails'. We stand very firm on this, and I'm afraid simply giving credit isn't enough.

Your artwork's neat! Would you make me some custom graphics for something?

While typically Tim can't do custom works for free, he's fully willing to produce graphics by commision, so if you're looking for something, give him an EMail. This includes both work from the Dragon Tails world or totally custom work (all aspects). Feel free to look here for more examples of his work.

Questions about the webpage

Hey! I tried to read all the old comics, but some of them are... (pause for dramatic effect) MISSING! What can I do!? I'd really like to see them.

On the 25th of december, Tim decided to host the entire comic archives, so this is no longer a problem. You can find all of the comics here or start at the start here.

Awhile ago, I think I remember seeing an odd banner on your page. What was that about?

Get a life, Greg.
